Bill White: An example for Dix

Recently while visiting our son in Denver, we were able to spend an afternoon at Washington Park.

The park is beautifully designed with rolling topography. There are two lakes, one pond, tennis courts, basketball courts, flower gardens and multiple fields conducive to all kinds of sports and activities. There are bike baths and walking and jogging trails all throughout the park. All this on 165 acres.

While there I envisioned the same setting on the Dorothea Dix property. I applaud the vision of the leaders who have led the charge to turn this wonderful property into an amenity that so many residents and visitors will be able to enjoy.

I don’t know what the delay is in getting the “deal” done, but let’s make it happen and get to work on creating our own Washington Park.
