When I’ve looked at the maps of North Carolina’s gerrymandered districts, I’ve pictured iguana shapes, salamanders or Gila monsters. The Nov. 12 column “ Voters denied a real choice” by Rob Christensen, describing the Republicans as “the Picassos of gerrymandering,” won the metaphor prize. I’ll always remember his phrase.
