A family recently came down to Moore Square in Raleigh, a place that seems to be filled with people with rough stories and hard lives. This family, out of the kindness of their hearts, gave out Christmas cards to random strangers, and inside was a simple note stating “God cares for you!”
I have traveled across the United States and seen many charitable acts, but this family did something I have seen no family do. Along with these notes of inspiration, they placed a $5 gift card to McDonald’s. Now, that may not sound like a lot to some people, but when you hand out easily 30 to 40 cards in a matter of minutes, it starts to add up.
When I approached the woman of the family and asked her who she was and why they did what they did, her response was that she and her family get in the giving spirit, and they know that this area has some people down on their luck.
I immediately called my mother, and she has a new-found faith in humanity. I want to say thanks to the family from the bottom of my heart, and happy holidays!
