Your Jan. 19 lead editorial “ MLK today” went beyond the bounds of decency. By citing “racial subtext beneath the reflexive opposition to anything he (President Obama) proposes,” you shamed your professionalism and organization.
By marginalizing dissent against the president’s domestic and foreign agendas as having a racial subtext, you insult a great many people who are not racist but who are deeply concerned about the direction of our country under his leadership.
And you insult the memory of King by choosing to play the race card on the day set aside for us to remember him.
