Thank you for the Jan. 20 news article “ When a hotel becomes home” about a situation in which too many residents find themselves, despite their efforts to get out.
What makes the story sadder is reading that “the Carrolls applied for a Section 8 housing voucher nearly two years ago” and “expect to wait five years or more before their application will even be considered.” This is an outrage in a growing “progressive” city.
Perhaps this is something our newly elected city council could have a look at between announcements for commuter train stations, parks, concerts and trendy night spots.
Many families live in hope.
