Patricia A. Dixon: Downtown debauchery

Regarding the Jan. 23 news article “ Hatem raises downtown alarm”: Greg Hatem’s view of Fayetteville Street in the aftermath of a night of partying is correct. It is more disgusting than Moore Square after a Sunday of suburban churches feeding the homeless.

My retirement home is east of Moore Square and within a block of the Stone’s Warehouse. The new owners of Stone’s Warehouse will be bringing in a nonaffordable grocery store and yet another micro-brewery.

I prefer the homeless revelers over the young professional revelers. At least the police keep the homeless drinking crowd thinned out.
