Regarding the Dec. 31 news article “McCrory’s portrait hung in governor’s mansion as he exits”: What a fitting ending to former Gov. Pat McCrory’s term. The moderate McCrory we voted for four years ago turned out to not be the McCrory we thought we’d elected. And now that he’s gone, the portrait he leaves behind in the governor’s mansion looks nothing like the man who actually lived there. How very fittingly ironic.
