Donald Trump delivered the line like a comedian at one of his casinos. “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her (pause) wherever.” Not funny, but deliberate and rehearsed. A male chauvinist pig’s response to a female debate moderator who had just accused Trump of being a male chauvinist pig.
Since the Republican Party is too timid or too weak to banish him from its ranks, it is up to the press to expose him. His claim that he could not recall the nose or the mouth as body parts that emanate blood and so had to look down and say “wherever” is laughable.
No candidate, no politician, no public speaker would ever use the word “blood” to describe a woman’s harsh criticism, which Megyn Kelly’s certainly was giving. They might say “fire coming out of her eyes” or “vitriol flowing from her lips” or “bile poured forth from her mouth.”
He really is trying to slither out of this one. And that is why the press must hold him accountable.
