Duke will open the football season with the Bull City Gridiron Classic game against N.C. Central at 6 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Wallace Wade Stadium.

The date and opponent was already known but the school announced the starting time on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils will remain close to home as they play four of their first five games at home. The only road trip is to North Carolina for a Sept. 23 game. The ACC has not determined a starting time for that game at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.

Duke’s second game of the season, on Sept. 9 at home with Northwestern, will begin at noon and be televised by ESPNU. The Blue Devils will play Baylor at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 in a game that will be televised by Fox Sports South.

After playing at UNC, the Blue Devils will play Miami at Wallace Wade Stadium on Sept. 29, a Friday night. That game will be televised by ESPN and begin at 7 p.m.

The only other known kickoff time for a Duke game this season is the Nov. 11 game at Army, which begins at noon and will be televised by CBS Sports Network.

The other games on Duke’s schedule are: at Virginia (Oct. 7), Florida State (Oct. 14), Pittsburgh (Oct. 21), at Virginia Tech (Oct. 28), Georgia Tech (Nov. 18) and at Wake Forest (Nov. 25).
