Increased security measures at NC State’s Carter-Finley Stadium

N.C. State will have enhanced security measures for its final two home games of the college football season, starting with Saturday’s game with Syracuse.

Entry into the stadium will probably take longer as bags and jackets will be checked at the entry gates. Fans are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes earlier than normal. Saturday’s game starts at 12:30 p.m.

The stadium gates will open at 10:30 a.m. for Saturday’s game, a half hour earlier than normal to offset the extra time needed for the enhanced screenings at the gates. Parking will open at 7:30 a.m.

N.C. State is encouraging fans to not bring bags into the stadium. If a bag is essential, a clear plastic bag is recommended.

There will also be an increased security and law enforcement presence inside and outside the stadium as a precaution.

The Department of Homeland Security advises that there are currently no known threats against collegiate stadiums in the wake of last week’s attacks in Paris.
