Senior left guard Alex Barr is back at practice and on track to return to the lineup for Friday night’s game at Virginia Tech.
Barr has missed the past three games with an ankle injury. He turned his left ankle in the second half of the 35-0 win over Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 12.
“I feel great, got some rest in me this weekend,” Barr said on Tuesday.
Barr did some drill work last week but wasn’t a full go in practice. He participated in the regular team practice on Tuesday.

Barr has started 20 games in the past three seasons at each guard position.
Junior Bryce Kennedy started for Barr at left guard against Old Dominion and redshirt freshman Tyler Jones has started the past two games.
“People get hurt and people have to step up,” Barr said. “I thought he played pretty well.”
In the first four games of the season, N.C. State’s running game had picked up where it left off at the end of the 2014 season. Louisville held the Wolfpack to 45 rushing yards in last week’s 20-13 loss.
If Barr returns to the lineup, he knows the offensive line has to improve on last week’s performance.
“We have to try to focus on what we did wrong and make our weaknesses a strength,” Barr said.
