Class of 2019 running back Devyn Ford has been picking up college offers since he was a freshman in high school.
Thursday night on Twitter, the four-star running back out of North Stafford (Va.) High School announced he’d narrowed his list to six schools, and North Carolina coach Larry Fedora and the Tar Heels could be in the running for him.
Along with UNC, Ford, who’s 5-11, 185 pounds, includes Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Clemson and Oklahoma on his list. Ford is the No. 2-ranked player in the state of Virginia in the Class of 2019, and the No. 7 running back, according to 247Sports.
On June 17, he attended UNC’s Freak Show event, a recruiting event of Fedora’s. Last season Ford carried the ball 246 times for 2,056 yards and 32 touchdowns. Ford told Taft Coghill Jr. of the Free Lance Star that UNC runs a similar offense to North Stafford and going to UNC would be an easy transition.
Ford also likes the number of players UNC sends to the NFL.
