North Carolina offensive lineman Landon Turner on Tuesday wrote on his Twitter account that he's “back.” Turner, the junior right guard who entered the season as the Tar Heels' most experienced and proven offensive lineman, had missed the Tar Heels' past two games with an injury.
In a message he posted on Twitter on Tuesday morning Turner wrote, “(I'm) back God is good.” UNC, which has lost consecutive games against East Carolina and Clemson, plays Virginia Tech at home on Saturday.
Turner's return would be a significant boost to UNC's offensive line. Without Turner, the line faltered in a defeat against East Carolina two weeks ago. The Tar Heels played poorly up front at the start of a game at Clemson on Saturday but then played settled down and improved during the 50-35 defeat.
Turner began the season an All-ACC candidate. Even when he was healthy, though, the offensive line faced no shortage of questions. UNC is still awaiting the return of Jon Heck, the right tackle who endured an injury during the loss at ECU.
