After a bit of a layoff, Amateur Hour: A News & Observer College Sports Podcast is back -- and just in time for the North Carolina-N.C. State basketball game on Saturday at the Smith Center.

Indeed, the Tar Heels and Wolfpack will play this weekend but you’re forgiven if the game snuck up on you. There hasn’t been much buzz, or anticipation, surrounding the latest edition of an old rivalry.

The Wolfpack is off to an 0-4 start in the ACC, its worst since 1996. UNC is 4-0 in the ACC for the first time under Roy Williams. And it just doesn’t seem like it will be much of a game on Saturday when these teams get together in the Smith Center.

Or will it?

Joe Giglio joins me to discuss the state of a rivalry game that seems to be lacking a certain something.
