The News & Observer boys soccer top 15

Only four teams – one per class – are left standing in the News & Observer’s Raleigh Metro area boys soccer rankings entering this Tuesday’s N.C. High School Athletic Association East finals.

Broughton will host New Hanover in 4A while Cardinal Gibbons wil travel to Jacksonville in 3A.

In 2A, Carrboro takes on defending state champ First Flight in Kill Devil Hills while Raleigh Charter heads to Wallace-Rose Hill in 1A.

One state championship will be held on Friday night at WakeMed Soccer Park while the other three are set for Saturday afternoon and evening.

Middle Creek, winners of eight straight going into Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Broughton, enters this week’s top 15.

The final top 15 rankings will be withheld until the All-Metro list comes out on Thanksgiving Day.
