The 15 teams already in The News & Observer’s greater Triangle wrestling rankings combined to lose just once over the past week.
Orange, now 18-1 , fell to a Swansboro team it had narrowly defeated earlier in the season. As a result, the Panthers are now fourth in the top 15. Undefeated Corinth Holders moves up to its highest-ever ranking at No. 3.
On Thursday, No. 1 Holly Springs travels to No. 9 Panther Creek. Should the top-ranked Golden Hawks win, they will clinch the Southwest Wake Athletic Conference title over conference foes like No. 2 Cary, No. 5 Athens Drive and No. 15 Fuquay-Varina.
No. 7 Millbrook has a big week, hosting Leesville Road (35-11) on Thursday and traveling to No. 10 Chapel Hill on Friday for a tri-meet with Cardinal Gibbons.
