Garner, Millbrook lead N&O boys’ basketball rankings

Garner and Millbrook, both bound for state 4A quarterfinal games on Thursday, are Nos. 1 and 2 in The News & Observer high school boys’ basketball rankings.

Chapel Hill, which won the NCHSAA 3A girls’ championship in 2014, is the new leader in the girls’ rankings. The Tigers are followed by state quarterfinalists Southeast Raleigh, Broughton and Athens Drive.

The girls rankings have a general shakeup following the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association championships and the first three rounds of the NCHSAA tournament. Former Nos. 1 and 2 Millbrook and Durham Riverside slide to Nos. 5 and 6.
