N&O rankings: Girls soccer, boys and girls lacrosse

Entering the final week of the regular season for lacrosse, Middle Creek’s boys and Cardinal Gibbons’ girls are still No. 1 in The News & Observer area rankings.

There are two regular-season weeks left in girls soccer, where Panther Creek has been No. 1 all year long.

As the season has moved along, the rankings have become more stable.

The girls’ soccer top 15 features just one new team, undefeated Raleigh Charter, which replaces Leesville Road.

The same top 10 for boys’ lacrosse are ranked this week, but Broughton falls to No. 10 after losing to No. 8 Enloe. On Friday, No. 1 Middle Creek will travel to No. 4 Apex with a conference title on the line.

Athens Drive enters the girls’ lacrosse top 10, taking the place of Heritage. No. 3 Apex travels to No. 1 Cardinal Gibbons on Monday in a rematch of last year’s East final.
