N&O scholar-athletes: Leesville’s Conner Tracy enjoys learning about finances

Favorite course: AP Statistics.

World’s biggest problem is: Poverty.

I was fascinated to learn: Of the devastation and hatred that occurred during the Holocaust and Civil Rights Era.

Most inspiring teacher: Mrs. Holly Laird, Principals of Business, Personal Financeand Business Financial Planning. She inspires me because she is hard-working, kind, knowledgeable, great at what she teaches, and I have learned much about being successful financially and in life.

Impactful book: The Book of Mormon. It has helped me develop moral values and purpose in my life. As I have read this book many times, I have learned to be more selfless and caring towards others rather than being focused on myself.

It is hard to believe that we used to: I find it hard to believe that segregated schools were a prominent practice in the United States. I feel that in our country, and as humans in general, we should give people equal opportunities and not discriminate.

Who epitomizes what a good American? Abraham Lincoln epitomizes what a good American should be because he worked hard for the rights of all and was honest in his dealings.

Favorite charity: American Red Cross.

Is there life on another planet? No.

Best movie: “Miracle,” a motivational movie about the story of the 1980 United States hockey team.

Whose life inspires you? Clayton Kershaw, an accomplished pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers and selfless family man with strong moral values.

Ideal guest list: Clayton Kershaw, Jesus Christ and Bill Gates

Something that you enjoy that would surprise people: I enjoy running because it allows me to stay in shape, and at the end of a run I feel like I have accomplished something.

I wish I had been there for: At Lucas Oil Stadium when Duke won the national Championship in 2010 and in 2015.
