Jaff Decker hit a three-run home run and had two hits, and Jacob Faria struck out nine batters over six innings as the Durham Bulls beat the Syracuse Chiefs 11-2 on Wednesday.
Faria (1-0) picked up the win after he walked one while allowing one run and four hits.
With the game tied 1-1, the Bulls took the lead for good in the third inning when Taylor Motter doubled to bring home Eury Perez.
The Bulls punctuated the blowout with six runs in the fourth and three in the eighth. In the fourth, Decker hit a three-run home run, while Motter drove in two runs and Mayo Acosta drove in one in the eighth.
A.J. Cole (6-5) went 3 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs and six hits in the International League game. He also struck out four and walked three.
Durham hit a season-high seven doubles in its victory.
Chris Bostick homered and singled for the Chiefs.
