It doesn't sound like Jason Richardson's return to the Bobcats is imminent. He has missed the past two games with an inflamed right knee, and before Sunday's loss to Orlando he described the joint as stiff and sore.
Coach Larry Brown would rather Richardson fully heal than play hero and potentially make the injury worse.

“We don't want him rushing back, and knowing him, he'll want to rush back,” Brown said. “Especially with competitive guys like him, you've got to make sure he's OK.”
Speaking of injuries, rookie point guard D.J. Augustin had a precautionary X-ray on his left big toe. No structural damage was discovered, and it sounds like Augustin has a turf-toe type of injury. He said that shouldn't keep him from playing.
I'm thinking I never want to play assistant coach Dave Hanners in a game of HORSE, after what I saw just before practice Wednesday.
Hanners noticed a stray ball roll in front of one of the baskets. In a single, nonchalant motion, he tapped the ball into a bounce and drop-kicked it off the backboard and straight through the basket.
