Matchup to Watch

Stephen Curry vs. Kemba Walker: This is the last of three straight opponents with great starting point guards. Quite a challenge for Walker, particularly with so many teammates hurt.

• The Warriors got out to a 5-0 start under new coach Steve Kerr, who replaced Mark Jackson last spring. Kerr has no previous coaching experience, but he was general manager with the Phoenix Suns and a longtime broadcaster.

• The Warriors’ 49.7 percent from the field is tops in the NBA. Curry and Klay Thompson are arguably the best backcourt in the NBA.

• Hornets small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will again be out with a stress reaction in his right foot.

• Rookie P.J. Hairston got his first NBA start against the Suns, replacing Kidd-Gilchrist.

Did you know?

Curry leads the NBA in steals at 2.6 per game and is third in turnovers at 4.4 per game.
