• The Charlotte Bobcats have an abundance of games on back-to-back nights this season, including this weekend: At home versus the Phoenix Suns Friday; at Milwaukee Bucks Saturday.
I asked Bobcats coach Steve Clifford if playing on back-to-back nights changes anything about how he manages a rotation. Clifford said he might trim back some starters’ minutes the second night, but he resists the urge to give up on a game the first night when his team is behind. Clifford said the Bobcats have demonstrated they can overcome deficits (as in Cleveland), so he wants to give them every chance unless they’re hopelessly behind.

• Now-Phoenix Suns coach Jeff Hornacek interviewed for the Bobcats job before it was offered to Clifford last spring. Hornacek said the interview with Rod Higgins and Rich Cho went well, and they indicated they wanted him back to speak with owner Michael Jordan.
Never happened. The day after Hornacek’s interview in Charlotte, the Suns offered him their job.
• Before the game Clifford said he didn’t want Jeff Adrien to disappear from the rotation with Jefferson back. For Friday, at least, Adrien got in ahead of former lottery pick Bismack Biyombo.
