Charlotte Bobcats-Orlando Magic Observations

• Bobcats rookie forward Cody Zeller scored layups twice in the first quarter with a ball fake and a drive past Andrew Nicholson. Nicholson isn’t much of a defender, but that’s the offensive variety (as opposed to settling for elbow jump shots) that will add value to Zeller’s production.

•  The Bobcats got small forward Jeff Taylor back from a one-game absence due to an inflamed heel. Taylor started, but the Bobcats will carefully monitor how he’s feeling. They don’t want to get back to the situation they had early season with center Al Jefferson, where he would play a game, miss a couple, try to play again, and aggravate the injury.

•  Bobcats backup center Bismack Biyombo missed his second straight game with a sprained right ankle. Bobcats coach Steve Clifford says Biyombo is improving, and the team is hopeful Biyombo will be ready to play Friday against the Indiana Pacers. Considering the Pacers have Roy Hibbert, the Bobcats need all their big bodies that game.

•  The Magic got center Nik Vucevik back after he missed four games with a sprained ankle. Big difference – he had 12 points and 10 rebounds at the half.
