Charlotte Hornets

Observations: Detroit Pistons 92, Charlotte Bobcats 91

• The more you watch Jannero Pargo play for the Bobcats, the more of a mystery it is that he wasn’t already playing elsewhere in the NBA when Ramon Sessions sprained his left knee.

Before the game, Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap described Pargo as a “cowboy,” and he meant that as a compliment – as in “fearless.” Apt description.

• Glad Dell Curry had the flexibility to skip a couple of Bobcats games so he could see son Seth play for Duke in the NCAA tournament. Stephanie Ready is filling in for Curry as television color analyst, both for the Pistons game and for Sunday in Miami against the Heat.

• Starting power forward Josh McRoberts came out early in the game with a strained left shoulder. The Bobcats indicated this didn’t appear to be a serious injury.

• Point guard Kemba Walker has been allowing the ball to roll up court without picking it up lately, seemingly to buy a couple of extra seconds per offensive possession. The way the Bobcats commit shot-clock violations this season, can’t hurt.
