Hurricanes’ postseason player roster for Toronto released by NHL

The Carolina Hurricanes’ 31-man roster for Phase 4 and the NHL’s Return to Play competition was released Sunday by the league.

The Canes will have a full complement of players as allowed by the league. Included on the roster is defenseman Brett Pesce, who did not attend the two-week training camp in Raleigh as he continues to rehab from shoulder surgery in March.

The Canes, who had a late-afternoon flight Sunday to Toronto, will have 16 forwards, 11 defensemen and four goalies on the roster.

Among the skaters, defenseman Roland McKeown and forwards Steven Lorentz, Clark Bishop and Max McCormick all spent much of the 2019-20 season with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL and will add depth.

The Canes face the New York Rangers in a best-of-five qualifying round that begins Aug. 1.
