The Carolina Hurricanes will open the 2023-24 season at home Oct. 11 against the Ottawa Senators, then pack their bags, with the North Carolina State Fair taking over the area around PNC Arena from Oct. 12-22.

The Canes will play six consecutive road games after the opener, heading West. In all, 11 of the first 15 games will be played away from PNC Arena as Carolina looks to win the Metropolitan Division for a third straight season.

The Hurricanes will have another six-game road swing in early December, and will have a six-game homestand in early January.

Other highlights of the schedule:

Bring on the champs

Carolina will host the Vegas Golden Knights, the 2023 Stanley Cup champions, on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at PNC Arena. The Canes and Knights will play at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Let’s have a rematch

The Canes lost four straight games to the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference final this past season. While the teams will play twice in the preseason, the Canes will take on the Panthers for the first time in the regular season on Nov. 10 in Sunrise, Florida.

Metro battle

The Canes, who edged the New Jersey Devils by one point in the Metro last season, will face the Devils three times in 2023-24 — the first game not until Jan. 25, at PNC Arena.

Tough finish

If the Canes are in a dead heat for another divisional title, they will have to win on the road as they close out the regular season. Carolina’s final four games are away — at Boston, St. Louis, Chicago and Columbus.
