Ocracoke/Portsmouth

Cape Lookout/Bogue Inlet

Topsail Island

Off the piers and in the surf, spots, red drum, black drum, bluefish, sea mullet and speckled trout can be caught. In the sound, flounder, trout, red and black drum and spots can be caught. Wilmington/ Wrightsville Beach

In the gulf stream, blackfin tuna, wahoo, sailfish, white marlin, yellowfin tuna and bluefin tuna can be found. Bottom fishing includes grouper, pompano, triggerfish and sea bass. Closer to shore, king mackeral and false albacore can be found. Fifteen miles out, gag grouper, black sea bass, triggerfish and grunts can be found. In the surf, sea mullet, pompano, speckled trout, red and black drum, skates and toad fish can be found. Inshore, red drum, speckled trout, bluefish, flounder, sheepshead and black drum can be found. Southport/Sunset Beach

Freshwater

Falls Lake

Crappie can be caught at 8-15 feet on minnows near brush and bridge pilings. Bass are concentrated around rocks. White bass are schooling and moving toward the creeks. Largemouth bass can be caught with Alabama rigs, spinner bait, jigs, crank baits and shads. Water level: normal 251.5, Wednesday 251.62, full pool 264.8. Jordan Lake
