Miami welcomes the Museum of Ice Cream back with a permanent location downtown

The Museum of Ice Cream, which made its debut as a pop-up in 2017, will be setting up shop in Miami permanently in 2024.

In what seems like a distant memory, 2017 marked the arrival of the Museum of Ice Cream, leaving an indelible mark on the vibrant city of Miami.

In early 2024, the experience that debuted in the Faena District (after hugely successful outposts in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) and quickly sold out of tickets will return to Miami permanently.

The eagerly awaited Museum of Ice Cream Miami is set to establish its home in the heart of downtown at Miami Worldcenter, specifically at 851 NE 1st Avenue (Unit #134). Scheduled to open at the beginning of 2024, it will be more than 14,000 square feet in size and stretch across two stories along the development’s pedestrian promenade between 1st and 2nd Avenues.

With the help of artificial intelligence, the “multi-platform, immersive experience” created by MOIC’s in-house team will transport visitors to a pastel-hued, sprinkle-coated wonderland, “fostering human connection through the shared love of ice cream,” mentioned the official press release, according to TimeOut.

There are ten different interactive exhibits at MOIC, all with a Miami theme. Highlights include the Cream Liner, a 1960s and 1970s-themed luxury airliner experience, and The Hall of Freezers, a trippy exploratory room with dozens of mysterious refrigerator doors. The famous sprinkle pool at MOIC will also be returning.

Mary-E’s Diner is a retro-futuristic hangout where customers can share ice cream drinks and desserts while catching up. During the 60-90 minute tour, guests will be led by costumed performers and given the freedom to sample sweets at any of the five stations along the way.

Even though it’s been five years since the first Museum of Ice Cream opened, people seem just as eager to swarm to new locations in search of content to share on social media as they were back then. Join the Museum of Ice Cream’s waitlist and keep up with announcements and updates by following @museumoficecream to beat the lines.
