Delta Air Lines takes off to Curaçao for the first time since 2010
Delta Air Lines is finally making its way back to Curacao after more than 13 years. Travel + Leisure reports that the carrier will depart from Atlanta to the Dutch Caribbean island starting on December 16.
“Building on its leading position at its largest U.S. hub, Delta will be the sole airline providing direct flights to Curaçao from Atlanta, while also enabling customers from over 100 U.S. cities access to this tropical destination through convenient one-stop connections,” Delta said in a statement.
Delta’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft will take passengers to the island and will include first class, Delta Comfort+, and a main cabin.
Curacao is the newest Caribbean destination Delta flies to. Other locations include Aruba, San Jose del Cabo in Mexico, and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Delta joins airlines like JetBlue and American Airlines in offering direct flights to Curacao.
Visit Curaçao for the sun and fun, as well as the fantastic festivals. Curaçao’s New Year’s Carnaval lasts throughout January and features parades and music inspire by and from the many cultures that make up the island—Dutch, Portuguese, African, South American, and Jewish. The Festival di Tumba parade on Shrove Tuesday is Carnaval’s highlight event.
In addition to Curaçao, Delta’s Latin America holiday schedule has increased its capacity by 20 percent compared to 2022, making it the largest in the history of the airline. Travel + Leisure notes that frequency to hotspots like Cancun, Nassau, Punta Cana, and San Juan will increase. Nonstop service to Cozumel from Atlanta and from Minneapolis is also part of the schedule.
Travelers with the airline will have even more options for their next vacation, as Delta and LATAM Airlines have joined forces to offer daily service between Miami and Medellin with LATAM and Atlanta to Cartagena. Delta is also expanding its service from Las Vegas with routes arriving to and departing from Sacramento, San Diego, and Austin since this past October.
