Hopscotch Music Festival has added two more choice main-stage headliners to this year's schedule — Nile Rodgers & Chic, one of the most prolific hitmakers of the past four decades, and Flaming Lips.

Along with releasing "Le Freak," "Good Times" and other disco-era landmarks with Chic, Rodgers has also produced and/or written hits for Daft Punk, David Bowie, Madonna and more over the years.

Flaming Lips, meanwhile, will replace the previously announced Belle & Sebastian, who had to cancel. This will be a return engagement for the Lips, who were one of Hopscotch's early headliners in 2011.

Those are the biggest names from the list of 32 acts released Tuesday, on top of 80 announced last month.

Hopscotch happens Sept. 6-8 at various venues across downtown Raleigh, from small clubs up to City Plaza and Red Hat Amphitheater. This will be the festival's ninth year.

Other lineup highlights this go-round include H.C. McEntire from local country-rock stars Mount Moriah; Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo; Mandolin Orange/Megafaun drummer Joe Westerlund; and even Skip "A/V Geeks" Elsheimer showing off some odd films.

Tickets are $199 for a general-admission pass, with VIP packages starting at $299. Passes allow entry into all festival clubs, three City Plaza headlining shows, and three Red Hat Amphitheater headlining shows.

Single-show passes for all City Plaza and Red Hat shows as well as 1-day passes will go on sale later.
