Acclaimed documentary ‘RBG’ continues to screen in theaters
On Aug. 3, the Cary Theater is showing Paul McGuigan’s 2017 drama “Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool” at 7 p.m., followed by Julie Cohen and Betsy West’s 2018 documentary “RBG” at 9:15 p.m. (There will be encores of “RBG” on August 4 at 7 p.m., Aug. 5 and Aug. 9 at 2 p.m., and “Film Stars” on Aug. 4 at 9:15 p.m.).
On Aug. 9, the Full Frame Roadshow presents Laura Nix’s 2018 documentary “Inventing Tomorrow” at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $3-$5 for each film except for the Full Frame event which is free.

▪ On Aug. 3, the Carolina Theatre in Durham is presenting a double feature of Alfred Hitchcock thriller classics starring Ingrid Bergman: “Spellbound” (1945), and “Notorious” (1946). The double bill begins at 7 p.m., and admission is $9.
On Aug. 4-6, it’s the 4K Restoration of Sergio Leone’s 1964 western classic “A Fistful of Dollars,” starring Clint Eastwood (check their website for showtimes). $8/$10.
On Aug. 8, the Moviediva Film Series is featuring Preston Sturges’ 1943 rom com “The Miracle of Morgan Creek” at 7 p.m. $7.

On Aug. 6, there will be a Victory screening of Norman Z. McLeod’s “Horse Feathers” (1932) at 5:30 p.m.
Also on Aug. 6, Andrew Davis’ “The Fugitive” (1993) screens as part of the Fist City series at 7:30 p.m. August 7, Terror Tuesday is featuring Stephen Herek’s “Critters” (1986) at 7:15 p.m. On Aug. 8, Stewart Raffill’s “Mac and Me” (1988) shows as part of the Weird Wednesday series at 7:15 p.m. On Aug. 9, it’s John G.
