What to Watch on Friday: Live the Alyssa Edwards life in Netflix’s ‘Dancing Queen’

Dancing Queen (Netflix) - This new docuseries is set in the world of Justin Dwayne Lee Johnson, aka drag superstar Alyssa Edwards, as he manages his dance life, his drag life, his family life and his love life in his hometown of Mesquite, Texas. Justin, who you may remember from “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” runs the highly competitive Beyond Belief Dance Company in Texas.

The Cool Kids (8:30 p.m., Fox) - Hank, Sid and Charlie insist on taking Margaret out to a club to celebrate her birthday.

Grammy Salute to Music Legends 2018 (9 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - A Great Performances show honoring recipients of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award: Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, Queen, conductor John Williams, The Meters and others.

Z Nation (9 p.m., Syfy) - In the Season 5 premiere, Doc and the others finally arrive in Newmerica, where they meet George, who is helping form the new country.

Van Helsing (10 p.m., Syfy) - Vanessa is once again resurrected in the Season 3 finale, and must confront her family’s legacy.
