Kennedy Center Honors (8 p.m., CBS) - Honorees at the 41st annual Kennedy Center Honors are Cher, Philip Glass, Reba McEntire, Wayne Shorter and the co-creators of “Hamilton.”

NOVA (9 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - Astronauts and engineers of Apollo 8 explain the inside story of the first mission to circumnavigate the moon.

Vikings (9 p.m., History) - Bishop Heahmund is wracked with guilt as he fights to renounce his passions.
