Roswell, New Mexico (9 p.m., The CW) - This new series involves aliens (the outer space kind) who live amongst us here on earth. Jeanine Mason plays Liz Ortecha, a scientist who returns to her hometown of Roswell and reconnects with her teenage rush, Max Evans (Nathan Dean Parsons), and soon discovers he’s not an Earthling. Politics of fear and hatred in Roswell threaten to expose Max and his family.

This Is Us (9 p.m., NBC) - Randall’s political campaign comes to a close, and Kevin meets someone from Zoe’s past.

The Swamp (9 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) - This American Experience documentary tells the history of the Florida Everglades and the efforts to reclaim, control and preserve the vast area once viewed as a wasteland.

Drunk History (10 p.m., Comedy Central) - Raleigh native Evan Rachel Wood appears in tonight’s Season 6 premiere playing author Mary Shelley in a Rich Fulcher-narrated story. Seth Rogan and Will Ferrell are also in Wood’s segment. More info — plus a Season 6 highlight reel — here
