Rent: Live (8 p.m., Fox) - The latest offering in a series of mostly really good live musicals from broadcast networks is “Rent,” the Tony Award-winning play about seven struggling artists in New York’s East Village. The cast for this three-hour event includes Vanessa Hudgens, Valentina, Jordan Fisher, Tinashe and Mario.

Screen Actors Guild Awards (8 p.m., TNT/TBS) -Megan Mullally hosts the 25th annual SAG Awards show, which recognizes actors in television and film. Alan Alda will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Three Identical Strangers (9 p.m. & 11 p.m., CNN) - This is the television premiere for last year’s acclaimed documentary film about triplets separated at birth who were reunited through coincidence as adults and then later learned a dark secret behind their separation. The film uses interviews with the triplets — David Kellman, Robert Shafran and Edward Galland — and their families, plus archival footage, to tell the remarkable story with all its twists and turns. The film, directed by Tim Wardle, also shows the impact of the controversial “Twin Study,” in which the boys took part. Note: CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta has released a companion podcast called “Three Identical Strangers: The Science Behind the Story.”
