Get your TPS reports ready. ‘Office Space’ celebrates 20 years on the big screen

On March 22, the Carolina Theatre in Durham is presenting a double feature of two comic cult classics celebrating their 20th anniversaries as part of the Retrotreasures Film Series. First up, there’s Mike Judge’s workplace satire “Office Space,” starring Ron Livingston, Jennifer Aniston, Gary Cole and Stephen Root. That’s followed by Trey Parker’s raunchy animated comedy “South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut,” featuring the voices of Parker, Matt Stone, Mary Kay Bergman, and Isaac Hayes.

March 27, it’s William A. Wellman’s 1931 comic crime drama “Night Nurse,” starring Barbara Stanwyck, Ben Lyon, and Joan Blondell screens as part of the Moviediva Film Series at 7 p.m.

March 23, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is serving up a Cereal Party for Danny DeVito’s 1996 fantasy comedy “Matilda” (every ticket comes with access to an all-you-can-eat cereal buffet). March 24, the Afternoon Teas series is screening James Ivory’s 1992 romantic drama “Howard’s End.” March 25, there will be a special screening of Don Hardy Jr. and Dana Nachman’s 2018 documentary “Pick of the Litter” ($3 of every ticket goes to Guide Dogs for the Blind). March 26, Mitchell Lichtenstein’s 2007 horror comedy “Teeth” shows as part of the Terror Tuesday series. March 24, the Cary Theater is showing the 20th annual Animation Show of Shows, a program of 15 animated shorts, at 2 p.m. (there will be an encore on March 28 at 7 p.m.). March 28, Cat Video Fest 2019, a program of hilarious cat clips which will raise money for felines in need, will screen at 2 p.m., and 9:15 p.m. Tickets are $3-$5 for each film except for the Cat Video Fest event which is $8. March 25 in Durham, Duke University’s Screen/Society is screening the new 4K Restoration of Chantal Akerman’s 1978 drama “Les rendez-vous d’Anna” (English title: “The Meetings of Anna”) at the the Rubenstein Arts Center’s film theater at 7 p.m. Free.
