Red Carpet photos: Oscar winner Ariana DeBose in fiery red Valentino pantsuit

Ariana DeBose hit the Red Carpet ahead of big win at Sunday’s Oscar ceremony, wearing a stunning red Valentino Couture pantsuit.

DeBose, a North Carolina native, won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” remake. She posed on the Red Carpet with Spielberg and with co-star (and 1962 Oscar winner) Rita Moreno.

In an interview on the Red Carpet, DeBose was asked about her historic nomination.

“It is historic. It’s profound,” she said. “I belong to so many communities. I’ve talked a lot about that this season. To be recognized first for the work and then be given the opportunity to show up and represent all the communities I belong to. I’m LGBTQ+IA family, I’m a dancer, I’m a Boricua, I’m Latina — and my Broadway family, huzzah.”

DeBose continued: “It really is everything to have this opportunity and to just be considered part of the elite of a different facet of the industry that I never thought I’d be in. It’s really special.”

Twitter loves DeBose’s Oscar look.

“I love our queer girl Oscar winner in pants,” tweeted fashion experts @TomAndLorenzo.

“The way I would RISK IT ALL for @ArianaDeBose,” tweeted Buzzfeed.

DeBose also wowed at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards show earlier this month, in a bright yellow Oscar de la Renta gown and burgundy heels, an homage to the dress Anita wore in the street dance scene in “West Side Story.”
