Charlotte’s Lovin’ Life Music Fest named one of the best new festivals in the US

A first-of-its-kind music festival that brought in thousands of fans to Charlotte has been named one of the best new events across the country.

After its inaugural year in 2024, Lovin’ Life Music Fest was voted as one of the top 10 new festivals in the U.S. to check out this year.

As part of USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards, the “Charlotte-flavored Lollapalooza” featuring dozens of rap, pop and rock stars was the only event in North Carolina to make the list — ranked at No. 6.

During its three-day run in May, more than 80,000 festivalgoers flooded the heart of the city to see over 40 performances across three different stages, including headliners Post Malone who brought fans on stage and Noah Kahan who appeared not once, but twice. And the unforgettable moment when Stevie Nicks serenaded the crowd with “Landslide” in a heavy downpour — that had music lovers singing and dancing in the rain.

“We are incredibly humbled and thrilled” about the festival’s recognition, Bob Durkin, co-founder and partner of Southern Entertainment said in a statement sent to CharlotteFive.

“This honor is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion of everyone involved. We want to sincerely thank our team, our partners, and, most importantly, the amazing community of Charlotte for making this possible. Together, we’ve created something truly special, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

After what organizers consider a big success, anticipation is already growing for this year’s festival set for May 2-4.

The 2025 lineup will have more than 50 national, regional and local artists, including The Dave Matthews Band, pop icon Gwen Stefani and rising star Benson Boone, plus others to be announced soon.

“The goal is to give people in Charlotte a large-scale music festival they can be proud of and continue to help grow the music scene in Charlotte and just be a small part of that,” Durkin previously told CharlotteFive.

“Hopefully all of this brings people from further away to check out and see what Charlotte has to offer and then people closer, hopefully come even more often.”
