Former FaZe Captain Karrigan Officially Transfers To Team Falcons, Kyxsan Moved To Inactive Roster

Finn "karrigan" Andersen has finally announced his departure from FaZe, ending his 5-year tenure as the decorated captain of the North American team. FaZe declared the captain's exit via an X post on April 20, followed by karrigan's own message regarding his time with the team. Moments after the news, Team Falcons has also announced karrigan's entry to the Saudi Arabian team, replacing Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, who is then moved to the inactive roster.

FaZe Down, Falcons Up

Karrigan's transfer is far from a surprise to esports fans of Counter-Strike. The move was initially leaked and corroborated by esports insiders on April 13. Falcon's plans of acquiring the FaZe captain are also in line with the schedule of the next CS2 Major happening in June. This allows ample time for karrigan to huddle with the team and refine their strategies, which might be necessary if they seek to topple Vitality's overwhelming dominance in the latest pro scene.

For karrigan, this isn't his first rodeo with the Falcons' dynamic. He has played with Nikola "NiKo" Kovač for almost two years in FaZe until the captain was benched and loaned to Team Envy in 2018. Danny "zonic" Sørensen was also karrigan's coach after the captain's brief stint with Astralis, before moving to FaZe 8 months later.

For Falcons' upcoming tournaments, the roster will appear as:

  • Finn "karrigan" Andersen (In-Game Leader)
  • Nikola "NiKo" Kovač
  • René "TeSeS" Madsen
  • Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov
  • Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin
  • Danny "zonic" Sørensen (Coach)

After the transfer, FaZe will be left without a captain, with no confirmation yet on possible replacements for the empty slot. According to HLTV, there are recent reports of inactive ENCE player Ryan "Neityu" Aubry to fill in for FaZe during the next few tournaments.
