Everything To Know About ‘Wednesday' Season 3 as Netflix Teases New Images
Wednesday will return for a third season on Netflix, continuing the global hit series led by 23-year-old Jenna Ortega, with production already underway and new cast members joining the expanding Addams Family universe.
To build on the fan anticipation, Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes image of Ortega as Wednesday on its official Instagram account on April 21. The photo shows Ortega standing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, holding a mysterious looking sheet of paper while wearing a black coat and gazing off into the distance. The post was captioned, "From Paris, with dread."
The image, shared by @Netflix and the series' official account, @WednesdayNetflix, has received more than 380,000 likes to date.
According to Netflix, production for Season 3 has been underway near Dublin, Ireland. While much of the series has centered on the gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, the newly released image suggests the story may soon expand beyond those familiar settings-taking fans on an even bigger adventure.
Wednesday is Netflix's gothic coming-of-age mystery series centered on Wednesday Addams, the headstrong daughter of the Addams Family. The show follows Wednesday as she enrolls at Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts, where she navigates friendships, family tensions and a series of dark supernatural mysteries. Ortega stars as Wednesday, with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams.
The series quickly became one of Netflix's biggest releases, driving renewed interest in the Addams Family mythology and cementing Wednesday as a cultural phenomenon.
Season 3 Renewal and Timeline
Netflix announced on July 23, 2025, that Wednesday had been renewed for a third season.
The renewal was notable because it was confirmed before the debut of Season 2, which is now streaming on Netflix.
What To Expect From Season 3
Co-showrunners and executive producer Alfred Gough said the creative focus remains consistent as the series moves forward.
"Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can," he said in a statement "We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday."
Co-creator Miles Millar added that Season 3 will dive further into the Addams Family itself.
"We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in Season 3," he said.
Netflix has announced several new cast members for the upcoming season, including high-profile actors.
Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy and James Lance will join previously confirmed additions Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan and Kennedy Moyer.
French actor and longtime Tim Burton collaborator Eva Green has also been cast as Aunt Ophelia, the enigmatic and "missing" sister of Morticia Addams. Ophelia is described as one of the most mysterious figures in the Wednesday universe.
Gough and Millar previously told Tudum that Green, 45, brings "an exhilarating, singular presence to the screen-elegant, haunting, and beautifully unpredictable."
Wednesday's next chapter may still be unfolding, but fans can revisit the series now. All eight episodes of Season 2 are currently streaming on Netflix, offering another trip through Nevermore's dark corridors while Season 3 takes shape.
