Donny Osmond Pens Tribute to Late Brother Alan Osmond: 'My Protector'

Donny Osmond remembers his late brother, Alan Osmond, as his lifelong "protector" in an emotional tribute after his death.

"This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me," Donny shared alongside a black-and-white photo of the two as children. "Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That's who he was. My protector. My guide."

He continued, "The one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine. Alan was our leader in every sense of the word. His tireless work helped build everything we became. I will always be grateful for the sacrifices he made and the love he showed-not just to me, but to every member of our family."

Alan died on Monday, April 20, at approximately 8:30 p.m beside his wife, Suzanne, and their eight sons.

"I owe him more than I can ever fully express," Donny continued. "I love you, Alan. Thank you for always being there for me. Till we meet again, Brother Donny."

Alan was the eldest of the Osmond Brothers. He, along with his brothers Merrill, Wayne and Jay, burst on the scene as a barbershop quartet in the 1950s. They were later joined by siblings Jimmy and Donny.
