‘Beyond the Gates' Star Discusses Scene She Thought She Failed Opposite a Daytime Icon
Beyond the Gates star Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Richardson Dupree) took viewers behind-the-scenes of the April 21, 2026 episode, explaining how it came together, after it almost didn't, in a video shared on social media.
The actress posted the video on her Instagram explaining how on-set "boo-boos" can happen "Some days, you know, the material sticks and it's just easy and it rolls off your tongue, and other days, a little more challenging," she said.
Dupliax explained that there can be several reasons for those moments, including heavy dialogue or nerves when working opposite certain scene partners.
She added that, in this case, her nerves came from sharing scenes with the award winning, Jon Lindstrom, who plays Joey Armstrong on the series.
"I'm gonna say it was because I was nervous because I was working with such an amazing talent," she said.
She explained that actors can sometimes leave a scene feeling like they bombed it. However with the help of directors and editors, those moments often come together seamlessly in the final cut, sometimes even exceeding expectations. In Duplaix case, she rewatched the scenes and shared, "Oh, I'm actually really good."
Duplaix also shared behind-the-scenes footage of her scenes with Lindstrom alongside the final version that aired, highlighting how on-set slipups can still result in polished performances.
In the scenes, Nicole visits with Joey to discuss how they can move forward, after a heated exchange occurred the last time the two were together. With a mutual friend in-between them in Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli), the two come together to be civil with one another.
In the comment section, Mike Manning, who plays Duplaix son-in-law Smitty, shared that the video was "two of my favorites to work with 🙌," with Duplaix adding, "your on the top on my list Mike 😘."
