BRIGANDINE ABYSS Gets an Official Release Date - Coming to Switch 2, PS5, and PC in August 2026

NIS America has locked in the release dates for BRIGANDINE ABYSS, the long-awaited new entry in the tactical RPG franchise that last saw a mainline release with The Grand Edition of Holy Grail in 2020. The game launches on Steam on August 26, 2026, followed by Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 27. A Deluxe Edition is available for Switch 2 and PS5, bundling a mini art book and digital soundtrack with the base game.

BRIGANDINE ABYSS is set in an entirely new world, separate from the settings of previous entries, and developer Happinet has designed it to be accessible for players coming in fresh. The Abyssloa Empire, a dark force stopped centuries ago by the power of the arcane Brigandine, has risen again. Six story campaigns let you confront that threat from multiple angles, each with its own perspective on the conflict and its own path to the truth.

Mission Mode Gives BRIGANDINE ABYSS Hundreds of Hours of Replayability

Beyond the story, BRIGANDINE ABYSS introduces Mission Mode: a freeform strategic experience where you select one of 24 different factions, each with unique win conditions, and attempt to bring the continent under your banner. There is no obligation to follow a narrative thread, just the map, your army, and whatever victory looks like for the faction you chose. For a genre that often lives or dies by its replay value, that is a meaningful addition on top of an already substantial campaign offering.

The core gameplay loop operates across two alternating phases. During the Organization phase, you manage resources, recruit units, and position your forces. The Attack Phase is where the hexagonal-grid combat plays out, demanding you account for skills, elemental attributes, and the development of the monsters bound to your officers. It is a system with clear roots in the original Brigandine games, updated for current hardware without sanding off the strategic depth that made the franchise worth reviving.
