Who Won ‘Jeopardy' Today? (April 27, 2026) Plus, the Final Jeopardy Answer
There are three things guaranteed in the world today: Death, taxes, and Jeopardy! being on. Believe it or not, the iconic game show has been on the air for over 60 years (though the modern incarnation we know and love technically debuted in 1984). Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.
Here's a spoiler-filled recap of who won Jeopardy! today, plus the answer to Final Jeopardy.
Who won Jeopardy today?
Greg Shahade
Greg Shahadeended JamieDing's historic 31-game winning streak, denying him the chance to tie or beat James Holzhauer's 32-game record.
Shahade ended the game with a commanding final score of $33,000. He found all three Daily Doubles and answered correctly, wagering aggressively and building a major runaway lead going into Final Jeopardy.
Who are the Jeopardy contestants today?
Greg Shahade
Greg Shahade is a chess player from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Katrina Puckett
Katrina Puckett is a teacher from Washington Court House, Ohio.
Jamie Ding
JamieDing is a bureaucrat and law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, who had an impressive 31-game streak, notching in fifth place for consecutive games won and highest winnings in regular-game play on the Leaderboard of Legends, before being defeated by Shahade. Every Jeopardy! streak has to end at some point, but as Redditors pointed out, they were "hoping we'd have a few more weeks."
He may be saying bye for now, but his legacy is secure as he finishes his run with $882,605. And it won't be the last we see of him on the Alex Trebek Stage, as he's earned a spot in the next Tournament of Champions.

What was Final Jeopardy today?
Final Jeopardy today was in the category "World Languages."
The clue: "Of South Africa's 12 official languages, these 2 are alphabetically first & last."
The answer: What are Afrikaans & Zulu?
All three contestants answered correctly, but the wagers told the real story. Shahade went into Final Jeopardy! with $32,600 and, with the game already locked up, made a conservative wager of just $400. He answered correctly and finished with $33,000, earning himself the title of new Jeopardy! champion.
Ding entered with $16,000 and wagered $3,010; although he answered correctly, he finished with $19,010, not nearly enough to catch Shahade. Meanwhile, Puckett entered with $3,000, wagered $1,990, and answered correctly, walking away with $4,990.
Shahade will return on Tuesday to defend his title.
