The film will be available through video-on-demand on Tuesday, May 5. According to When to Stream, it will cost $24.99 across Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube.
"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" will reportedly also be available to rent for 48 hours for $19.99 on these platforms.
While unconfirmed by Universal, this adheres to the studio’s home release policy. On March 12, Universal announced plans to keep its films in theaters for a minimum of five weeks before releasing them on video-on-demand. Previously, some Universal films were in theatres for just three weeks before moving to video-on-demand.
As for general home release, "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" should arrive on Peacock towards the end of 2026. This means it will be ready to stream as part of a Peacock subscription. The first movie is currently available to watch on Peacock with a subscription.
The sequel to 2023’s “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” stars Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key, all of whom reprise their roles. Joining the cast are Benny Safdie, Donald Glover, Glen Powell, and Brie Larson.
"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" premiered April 1 in US cinemas. It grossed $833 million worldwide against a $110 million budget. Critically it was less successful, scoring just 43% on Rotten Tomatoes compared with the last movie’s 59%.

Later in 2026, the film will reportedly stream in the US on Peacock as part of a subscription to the platform. After four months of exclusivity, it will move to Netflix for the next ten months, likely around Winter 2026.
