HGTV Just Announced the Comeback Fans Have Been Hoping For
HGTV is bringing back a familiar face for a new series, and fans are thrilled. Former Farmhouse Fixer star Jonathan Knight is returning to the network to lead a new show titled Crashers.
People shared on May 6 that Knight, who became a superstar as a member of New Kids on the Block, will star in a 13-episode run of Crashers. The series is a revival of an older HGTV show that originally aired from 2008 to 2011.
HGTV shared the exciting news in an Instagram post on May 6. The caption began, "Make way-we're rebooting Crashers!"
As the network teased, the premise of the show is that Knight and his team show up to provide an "ambush-style" renovation. The "Homeowners get a surprise, 72-hour transformation of a space of their choosing," the network explains.
Fans and Fellow HGTV Stars Are Already Sharing Their Excitement
Fans and Knight's fellow HGTV colleagues couldn't hold back on sharing their excitement.
Love It or List It star Page Turnergushed, "So excited for @jonathanknight!!"
Fixer to Fabulous star Jenny Marrsadded, "Can't wait!!! Yay, @jonathanknight!"
A friend commented, "Couldn't happen with a better Kid!"
Someone else added, "Yay! Our favorite home renovator is back!!!!"
As HGTV explains, Knight will surprise people in various places, such as hardware stores and furniture boutiques, to give them an opportunity to have a room renovated. The catch is that they need to leave their house immediately and have no say in the design of the new space.
The HGTV star and his team will tackle a wide range of spaces, from kitchens to backyards. Knight teases, "Everyone has that one space that really needs work. But they have no time, no money and no idea where to start - and that's where I come in."
He added, "I love a challenge and especially one that's going to change someone's life in 72 hours."
Knight's return to HGTV comes about a year after he and his show, Farmhouse Fixer, were dropped by HGTV. He was one of several network personalities whose shows were lost during a surprising wave of cancellations.
Other HGTV shows dropped included Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block, Izzy Does It, Battle on the Beach, The Flipping El Moussas, and Christina on the Coast.
Knight and his new show, Crashers, debut on HGTV on Monday, June 8 at 10 pm Eastern, 9 pm Central.
