Nancy Guthrie Update: Neighbors Send Blunt Message to Perpetrator Ahead of Mother's Day

Neighbors of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie-who has been missing for three months after her Tucson, Ariz., abduction-sent a blunt message to the 84-year-old's abductor ahead of Mother's Day.

On Friday, May 8, Fox News Digital reporter Michael Ruiz shared via X a clip and photos showing flowers and signs outside Nancy's home. The update included a poster that issued a direct message to the person responsible for her disappearance.

"🎗️🎗️🎗️Someone placed this Mother's Day message outside Nancy Guthrie's home, addressed to her abductor," Ruiz captioned his update.

The sign read, "Your mom would be ashamed if she knew what you did. So before you take her flowers on Mother's Day, TAKE NANCY HOME, or tell the family where she is..."

A different poster read, "Let Nancy come home. It's never too late to do the right thing. God is watching you," next to artwork, a teddy bear, and more flowers.

Sunday, May 10, will mark Savannah's first Mother's Day since Nancy was kidnapped from her Catalina Foothills residence. She was last seen at her home on the evening of Jan. 31. Although investigators have released video footage and stills of a masked individual on the 84-year-old's porch, and Savannah has offered a $1 million reward, no suspect has been named in the case.

One potentially hopeful lead left is DNA. Recently, the FBI obtained DNA evidence from Nancy's home, a hair sample, for processing, after the Pima County Sheriff's Department initially sent it to a private lab in Florida.

CeCe Moore, a genetic genealogist, told NewsNation's Brian Entin that new technology allows for the extraction of snip profiles from rootless hair, which has been used to solve cold cases.

"Now we just have to hope that it is the person or persons-one of the persons-who kidnapped Nancy," Moore explained. "It's again, kind of a Hail Mary. Everything is getting to that point, I feel, because so much time has gone by. But you just never know."
