'Big Bang Theory's Long-Awaited Spinoff 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' Debuts First Trailer

After months of ongoing fan speculation, The Big Bang Theory's highly anticipated new spinoff series, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, has shared its first trailer. And judging from the glimpses of the show we saw in the teaser, fans simply aren't ready for the finished product.

Though a direct spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe dives into deep into the realm of sci-fi action with its upcoming series.

As revealed in the trailer, the show is set to follow Kevin Sussman's mild-mannered comic shop owner Stuart as he embarks on an epic adventure to save the multiverse from Armaggedon.

Alongside Sussman, original Big Bang Theory stars Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus and John Ross Bowie will take over the spotlight as the main characters within the series.

Ryan Cartwright and Josh Brener, both of whom will play recurring roles in the series, previously appeared in earlier episodes of The Big Bang Theory, albeit portraying different characters than the ones they're set to play in Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.

While some viewers might have understandably expected a traditional sitcom spinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe's first trailer shows anything but a conventional comedy series.

With various monsters, giant insects and evil imperial rulers popping up throughout the teaser, fans can expect a whirlwind of an adventure reminiscent of Doctor Who or Rick & Morty.

Of course, it's not just us that are blown away by the trailer. Numerous fans shared their own surprise with the upcoming series in the YouTube comments section attached to the trailer.

"Never in a million years would I have thought the show would be exactly what the title suggested," one user wrote.

"Of all the spinoffs they could've done, I wouldn't have guessed this," added another fan.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will premiere exclusively on HBO Max on July 23.
