Why Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin's Relationship Is a True Love Story
Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin have been going strong since June 2018, but their love story started out with some hesitation.
"I knew I wasn't in a good mindset at the time, and maybe deep inside I knew it could be something more," Palvin told W Magazine during a February 2019 joint interview with Sprouse, explaining why she didn't respond for six months after he slid into her DMs in August 2017.
The pair met earlier that year at a Harper's Bazaar party. "I cracked jokes, she cracked jokes and we clicked," Sprouse told Page Six in September 2018.
Despite their slow start, the pair's relationship quickly picked up. By January 2019, they moved in together in Brooklyn. Sprouse and Palvin confirmed to VMagazine in June 2023 that he proposed nearly one year prior, and the couple officially became husband and wife in July 2023.

August 2017
The couple met at a Harper's Bazaar party. They immediately "clicked," Sprouse told Page Six, but Palvin ignored his initial Instagram DM for six months.
"I was very scared," the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model told British Vogue in February 2020. "I had this thought in the back, like, ‘Oh, but wait … are we going to get paparazzi'ed all the time?'"
May 2018
Palvin put her fears aside and flew to China to visit the Suite Life on Deck alum.

The twosome made their relationship official on June 16, 2018.
August 2018
Palvin wished her beau a happy 26th birthday. "Even though it's your birthday I feel I just got the biggest present of all ♥Happy birthday Boss Baby ," she captioned a selfie of her and Sprouse.
November 2018
The After We Collided star sat front row at the Victoria's Secret fashion show and brought burgers from Shake Shack for Palvin to eat afterward. "I will be cheering her on very loudly, annoying her, embarrassing her," he told E! News ahead of the event.

The pair moved in together in Brooklyn.

Palvin finally met her boyfriend's identical twin brother, Cole Sprouse, at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty. "Cole works in Vancouver, [Canada]. He's a very busy guy," Dylan told W Magazine of the delayed introduction.

The Italian-born actor wished his other half a happy two-year anniversary via Twitter, joking that he and Palvin bear a certain resemblance to each other.
"Here's to us looking more alike with each passing year until we're a single beast with four arms and four legs that runs at a top speed of 50 mph and screams like a baboon at nearby travelers trespassing into our woods," he captioned a selfie of him and the Hercules actress on a scenic hike.

Palvin told E News! that she and Dylan were leaving Brooklyn and moving to the other side of the country. "We are currently moving to L.A., so it's kind of like saying goodbye to the city," she told the outlet.

The happy couple were all smiles in black outfits at the Bullet Train movie premiere in Los Angeles.

The lovebirds were spotted on a romantic outing in Venice, Italy, ahead of the 79th International Venice Film Festival. The couple looked chic as they rode downstream in a gondola, with Palvin donning an all-black ensemble and matching black sunnies. Sprouse, for his part, opted for a white collared shirt. The Suite Life alum rolled up his sleeves and unbuttoned the top few snaps to keep the outfit looking casual.

The couple confirmed their engagement via social media - and in a corresponding interview with V Magazine. "With the power invested in V I am a Sprouse to be ," Palvin captioned an Instagram video from their joint cover shoot. Sprouse, for his part, revealed that he proposed in September 2022 as the duo told the magazine that they plan to wed in Hungary.
"For me, at least, marriage is a promise of kind of loving you endlessly and being your partner. I'm nervous about the event," Sprouse explained to the outlet. "Frankly, it's about the first dance. I'm nervous about a choreographed dance."
Palvin, for her part, said the engagement was more nerve-racking than the idea of marriage. "I mean, a man has time to prepare for the proposal - Dylan kept the ring for seven months before he asked the question - but for me, it was right then and there," she recalled. "I knew since we started dating that I want to marry him, but it's a big decision."

The couple tied the knot in Hungary. "We didn't have a planner, so Barbara and her sister planned most of it," the groom told Vogue. "They told me my only job was to show up and say the right name."

"Happy dirty 30 to my wife," Dylan captioned an Instagram tribute on Palvin's birthday. "Truly, I've never enjoyed being drunk on a locomotive before, but you really know how to keep me on my toes!"

Sprouse supported Palvin ahead of her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, playfully posing with cutouts of their two animals, a dog and a cat. When asked if he was excited to see anyone else strut their stuff, Sprouse said it was all about his wife.

It was date night at the 2025 US Open Tennis Championships at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. The pair matched in blue while Palvin accessorized with a Hammitt bag.
